My initial introduction to Simon and One Vibe came during my tenure as Director of Marketing and Communications for Seattle Theatre Group. He invited me to attend the Madaraka festival being hosted at EMP, now known as MoPop, and it is an experience I will never forget. The presence of hundreds of people coming together in support of One Vibe, while experiencing incredible music and art by artists not often showcased in this area, was electric and memorable. Simon's capacity to build relationships across cultures was known to me, but became incredibly palatable at the Madaraka Festival and has continued to be present through his many other creative, community based endeavors.
