This Zambian proverb talks about how children see the world differently from us adults and how we must be mindful of how we convey our knowledge and experiences to younger generations.
We often forget how different their perspective is and fail to appreciate the child’s viewpoint, instead just assuming that they will understand what we are trying to say on our terms.
When teaching or explaining something to a child, it is important to find ways to make it understandable for them – because when you show them the moon, they may only see your finger.
